5 Things to Know About The Fall Church Conference

Both/And 2012, The Church’s Annual Leadership Conference is coming up October 16th through the 18th, here in Las Vegas.   I can say confidently that this conference will set a new precedent for our church, and many churches all over the world, and I am hoping you will be able to join us!

Our team is planning and preparing for the conference as we speak, and here are some of the main features.

1.  Both/And Conference Theme
The heart of this conference is something God has been speaking to me personally, and doing in our church ever since we planted The Church here in Vegas, over 8 years ago.  It’s the tension and balance of two seemingly opposing approaches to doing church – the approach of prayer, fasting and other spiritual disciplines to see a church grow versus the approach of planning and implementing systems to see growth.  We believe it’s not either, and it’s not or – it’s BOTH/AND.  Should we seek to be relevant or should we seek revival?  BOTH/AND.

Ecclesiastes 7:18 says, “It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes.”

This year, we are praying and planning a conference that will equip and empower your team for this Both/And approach to ministry.  The day sessions will be filled with practical training and contemporary tools for your whole team.  Then at night, we are making room for the Holy Spirit to show up in power and extended times for prayer, worship and prophetic ministry.  We need to hear from God and be refreshed in His presence.

2. World Class Speakers
We are bringing in the best and brightest speakers and leaders for our conference this year from a diversity of backgrounds and church movements.  We have Ed Young, Stovall Weems, Sam Chand, Sergio De La Mora, Obed Martinez and Craig Johnson in the line-up.  The mix is intentional.  We love learning from leaders on the front lines from a variety of styles and backgrounds!


3. Pre-Conference Leadership Sessions with Dr. Sam Chand
We are planning a series of pre-conference leadership sessions with Dr. Sam Chand that will take place during the day on Tuesday, October 16th, before the opening night session.  Dr. Chand is the author of numerous books and is currently one of the nation’s foremost experts on local church leadership development and vision execution.  Your investment in these sessions will reap exponential dividends for you, your team and your church!

4. App Sessions and Round Tables for Lead Pastors, Youth, Children, Worship, Creative and Outreach.
We have completely rebuilt our app sessions this year to make it a truly revolutionary experience for you and your team.  Each track will include 2+ hours of teaching and training from staff.  Then, we have built in the 3rd hour to to be a collaborative question and answer session, to do our best to give wisdom for your specific situation and challenges.  We are also excited to to have Craig Johnson, author of Lead Vertically and staff pastor from Lakewood Church, training on volunteer recruitment and leadership.  Check out specific details about the APP sessions HERE.

5.  Year-Long Leadership Training and Content
We are also building up momentum toward our vision of training and equipping leaders during the other 362 days of the year!  We are believing God for an explosive conference that will propel you and your team to the next level, but we want to be able to stay connected and continue to invest in you after this conference is over.  We will accomplish that through the church conference blog, email list and social media.  Even before the conference this year, we will be publishing and sending out videos, articles and other leadership content for you and your team.  If you are interested you can sign up on the email list HERE.
