What Does the Bible Say About Christian Relationships? – RelationTIPS Sermon Series

What Does the Bible Say About Christian Relationships?
In the world today, we lose touch in what the Bible says about handling our many different relationships. Not just our relationships with our spouse – but with our children, our family members, our friends, our co-workers, and our neighbors. We all want Godly advice for our love lives, our marriages, and really all our significant relationships. Why should we care so much about our relationships? We care because our relationships are the most important thing we possess. Material possessions come and go, finances and homes values can go up and down, but the most important thing we possess are our relationships.
I know that here at The Church LV we have many types of relationships; from Christian married couples to singles, and everything in between. And we know relationships can either help you or hinder you. Relationships can be a difficult road to navigate and many questions come to mind. Can we have a more fulfilled life if we develop deep and long lasting relationships? How does God want me to handle conflict? How does He wants us to conduct or single life? Does He have advice for dating? In this RelationTIPS 2.0 sermon series, we speak to those issues and attempt to find some bible-centered answers.
Here is the message, “How to Handle Conflict in Relationships” from the RelationTIPS 2.0 Series.

The MORE Book Launch Week
As we closed out this past year, I really felt that 2013 would be the year of MORE. More grace, More favor, More of God’s Presence and as I was reading the Bible, Ephesians 3:20 leapt off the page.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely MORE than we might ask or think.
My prayer for you is that you will receive the MORE that God has appointed for you in every area of your life – now!

I am excited to share with you that this is the Official MORE Book Launch Week of my new book MORE: Discovering the God of More When Life Gives You Less. I wrote MORE out of the pain and heartbreak we experienced over the last several years, when we experienced two consecutive miscarriages, the death of my amazing father-in-law, Wendell Smith, and a very arduous financial battle with The Church’s lender.
After coming through trials and difficulty, I am happy to say that God has brought us (myself, my family and my church) through to greater things and we’ve experienced Him in ways we could not have seen when we were in the midst of it. I’m excited to share this book, because I believe it will really bring life, peace, strength and encouragement to those who are walking through a difficult season.
I would like to share some exciting news with you! During this official launch week, we are offering some incredible, FREE bonuses (a $75 value), including an exclusive message from Bishop T.D. Jakes, that I believe will be a great source of encouragement for you. Simply click HERE for more information.
Also, I would love to have your help as we launch the book this week.
Here is how you can participate. Simply share this on the various social media sites you use (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and use the hashtag #MOREbook.

DAY TEN: MORE JOY (Daily Devotional)
DAT TEN: MORE JOY (Daily Devotional)
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives. We are not fasting to get more – we are positioning ourselves to receive more – to get our perspective in agreement with His perspective!
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE joy for me in every area of my life.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more JOY in my life today!
Yes, JOYFUL are those who live like this! JOYFUL indeed are those whose God is the Lord! Psalm 144:15
I can’t think of a better way to end our fast, than to focus on JOY. In this final verse of Psalm 144, it says that JOY is the result for people who live like this – who trust in the abundance of God – whose God is the Lord. As we set our hearts and minds to trusting in God for 2013, and as we align our minds to how God thinks about us, we step into the JOY of the Lord.
Joy is an emotion that comes from well-being, success, good fortune or the prospect of getting what you desire. It is a state of being happy. Sometimes, circumstances in our life pull us out of the state of Joy and into fear, worry, anxiety or upset. Our joy can waiver. But the Lord’s JOY is steady and consistent. He doesn’t waiver when circumstances seem to go awry. He sees the end from the beginning. His JOY is steady and consistent, and we can access His JOY at any moment!
The Bible says, ‘the Joy of the Lord is your strength!’ His JOY gives us strength and empowers us in the midst of anything we are facing. His JOY gives us energy, life and vitality. As we start this New Year together, let’s remember that we are walking with a Loving, Heavenly Father who is FOR US!
Let’s stay in the attitude of trust. Trusting God’s heart toward us – trusting His power to help us – and accessing His JOY – which is steady and constant!
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE JOY in my life today!
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, I ask for MORE JOY in my life. As I trust in You more and more, help me to tap into the JOY that You give, which gives me strength and helps me in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!

DAY NINE: MORE SECURITY (Daily Devotional)
DAY NINE: MORE SECURITY
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives. Remember, we are not fasting to get more – we are positioning ourselves to receive more – to get our perspective in agreement with His perspective!
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE security for me in every area of my life.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more SECURITY in my mind, my soul, my spirit and my life today!
May there be no enemy breaking through our walls, no going into captivity, no cries of alarm in our town squares. Psalm 144:12-14b
As we continue studying these passages in Psalm 144, I want to focus today on the SECURITY that God wants to give us. The world we live in today is vastly different from the generations that came before us. Sometimes if feels like evil has intensified. It may feel at times like the walls of life are caving in around us as we see world events that we cannot even wrap our mind around.
The good news is that even in the midst of darkness, God is our refuge. In Proverbs 18:10 it says, ‘The Name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to Him and are safe.’ NLT We cannot always exert control over the world around us, but we can know that God is our source of security in chaos. He is strong and mighty, and He wants to show Himself as our protector when we need Him.
We don’t need to be afraid. We can experience the SECURITY of knowing that – if God is for us, and He is – who can stand against us? God wants to assure you today that He is for you. He is your refuge in the storms of life. He will give you the peace and SECURITY you need when times are difficult!
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE SECURITY in my mind, my heart and in my life today. I believe God is for me and I receive the security that He has for me.
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, I ask for MORE SECURITY in my life. I release every fear and I receive the safety and security that only knowing YOU can bring into my life. I ask this In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!”

DAY EIGHT: MORE ABUNDANCE (Daily Devotional)
DAY EIGHT: MORE ABUNDANCE (Daily Devotional)
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives.
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE abundance for me in every area of my life.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more ABUNDANCE in my life today!
Psalm 144:12-14a May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to a beautify a palace. May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands, and may our oxen be loaded down with produce.
These final days of the fast, I am going to talk about the last four verses in this Psalm, beginning with this incredible description of ABUNDANCE. We need to understand that God’s heart toward us is for MORE in every area of our lives. This passage describes abundance, which is MORE than enough, in our sons and daughters (which speaks to our natural and spiritual offspring), in our crops (which speaks to our natural businesses and jobs), in our flocks (which speaks to areas in our life that reproduce and that we oversee), and oxen (which speaks of those that work for us – our employees, and even our investments – our money working for us).
In these verses, the Psalmist creates this picture of overflowing abundance in EVERY area! We must understand and accept that this is GOD’S will for our lives – abundance on every side – more than enough, so that it spills out and overflows to others around us! What an incredible testimony for the world to see God’s goodness and overflow in our lives.
God never lacks or goes without. He lives in abundance and He wants His children to live abundantly naturally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially – in every area of our lives.
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE ABUNDANCE in my life today. I believe God is for me, and is helping me receive more in every area of my life!
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, I ask for MORE ABUNDANCE in my life. I ask You to help me understand and know, how good You are and how much You truly love me. And as I walk in that revelation, give me MORE ABUNDANCE today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!

DAY SEVEN: MORE HOPE (Daily Devotional)
DAY SEVEN: MORE HOPE (Daily Devotional)
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives. Remember, God is a God of abundance and He wants us to live in His abundance. We do not have to beg or convince God to give us more – He is our Loving, Heavenly Father and it is His delight to give us all that we need!
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE hope for me, for my future, for my circumstances and even, for my loved ones.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more HOPE in my life from God.
“And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.” Romans 5:5 NLT
What is hope? We use this word a lot. “I hope I get that promotion.” “I hope my team wins.” “I hope everyone comes to the party.” Hope can be explained as the emotional state that promotes faith in a positive outcome to events or circumstances in our lives. It’s that feeling you have that what you want to happen will happen!
Hope is an emotional state that comes from a belief or from faith and it also promotes more faith! What you believe sets your emotions in motion. If you believe God is for you and loves you, then that will give you hope for a positive outcome in your circumstances. The hope, the expectation you have, will then spur more faith! Hope and faith work hand in hand.
There is nothing worse than feeling despair. God does not want us to lose our hope. He wants us to live in the emotional state of hope – confident in His love for us and confident in His ability to help us, no matter what we are facing.
If you feel like you’ve lost your hope, God wants to restore that today.
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE HOPE in my life today. I believe God is for me and that faith in God’s goodness is altering my emotional state!
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, I ask for MORE HOPE in my life. I ask You to help me understand and know how good You are and how much You truly love me. And as I walk in this revelation, let HOPE flood my soul today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!

DAY SIX: MORE PROVISION (Daily Devotional)
DAY SIX: MORE PROVISION
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives. God is a God of abundance and He wants His children to live in His abundance.
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE provision for me – spiritually and naturally.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more PROVISION in my life from God.
“For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.” 2 Corinthians 9:10 NLT
This wonderful passage of Scripture shows us that it is God who provides our resources! This is not just speaking about spiritual resources (strength, joy, peace, etc.), but our natural resources too – food, clothing, shelter!
For me, this Scripture is a reminder that God doesn’t just get us started by providing the seeds. Nor does He just give us a result in the harvest. He is the God who provides the seeds, and then continually increases and blesses us from start to finish. This passage is speaking both of natural PROVISION and blessing, as well as spiritual PROVISION and blessing. It is God in the beginning, God in the middle and God in the end!
The end result of a great increase in our natural and supernatural resources is a harvest of generosity in us! What that means is this: as we realize and recognize that it is God who provides for us, and not ourselves – as our trust in His goodness towards us grows, the outcome is generosity in us and through us! We are now able to extend generosity to others because God is our SOURCE of PROVISION.
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE PROVISION in my life today, and as I do, I am becoming more generous!
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, I ask for MORE PROVISION in my life. I ask You to provide and increase my resources, and work a great harvest of generosity in and through me. In Jesus’ Name I prayer. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!

DAY FIVE: MORE WISDOM (Daily Devotional)
DAY FIVE: MORE WISDOM
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives.
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE wisdom for me – in my life, my relationships and the direction I’m taking.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more WISDOM in my life from God.
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” James 1:5 NLT
I love the simplicity of this Scripture. We need wisdom in every area of our lives. Wisdom helps us make decisions and will help us navigate every challenge life can present. We can learn from the wisdom of God instead of just by our mistakes!
Gaining wisdom is as simple as asking God for it – and we aren’t asking a stingy God who has limited wisdom. We are asking our GENEROUS God who has all things in abundance, including knowledge, insight, foresight and WISDOM! He wants us to have His wisdom – we simply need to ask and believe that He is giving it to us.
Proverbs 3 says: ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take.’ NLT
God will make the path or the direction clear! Wisdom becomes like a light in dark places. Think about a car driving at night. Even if the whole path isn’t lit, the headlights provide enough light to navigate the twists and turns of the road you’re on. This is how God’s wisdom guides us. We may not see the whole picture of life all at once, but God’s wisdom will give us enough light to make daily decisions and over time, bring us safely to the destination we desire.
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE WISDOM for my life today!
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, I ask MORE WISDOM in my life. Light my way and cause me to walk in Your wisdom. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!

DAY FOUR: MORE PEACE (Daily Devotional)
DAY FOUR: MORE PEACE
Today, we are continuing our 10-day fast as we focus on MORE, the abundance that God has for us in every area of our lives. Remember, we are not fasting to twist God’s arm or convince Him to do something for us. We are fasting to move ourselves to a place of agreement with God, so we can receive all that He desires to give us.
As we continue our fast, our thought for the day is “God has MORE peace for me – in my mind, in my heart and in my circumstances.”
Your confession for today is: I am receiving more PEACE in my life from God.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
I rarely meet anyone who would say that they don’t need more peace! We live in a world that moves at a fast pace and many of us feel worry or fear on a daily basis. At times, we may feel like we have to battle to st ay in a place of peace.
But I love what this passage of Scripture says! It actually says that it’s the peace God gives that will actually guard our hearts and minds. That takes the pressure off of us to guard – and it puts the pressure back on what God gives us – His peace.
The word picture implied here is that of a military person standing guard. That military person is not you – it’s not your effort – it’s not your strength or your ability to muster up the energy. It is God’s PEACE standing ready to protect your heart and mind. That is so powerful! I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel better already!
Say this out loud: I am receiving MORE PEACE today!
Let’s Pray this Prayer Together: Father, thank You for MORE PEACE in my life. I believe that Your peace is guarding my mind and my spirit. I thank you for Your peace which is actively protecting me at all times! I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Have a Blessed Day!
Benny Perez
